What to expect on your first visit.

Our fantastic chiropractic assistants will welcome you to the clinic before asking you to complete a short form to help provide our team with some background information about yourself.

The initial consultation will consist of one of our Doctor’s of Chiropractic taking you through a thorough medical history followed by a physical examination consisting of chiropractic, orthopaedic and neurological tests tailored to you. The chiropractor will discuss how chiropractic may help you following your examination and offer you the chance to ask any questions.

Following your initial consultation your chiropractor will recommend a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs, designed to provide you with the optimal outcomes along your chiropractic journey.

FAQs

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is a healthcare discipline that focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those related to the spine. Chiropractors use manual adjustment techniques to restore proper alignment and function to the spine and other joints of the body.

How long does a chiropractic treatment session usually last?

The duration of a chiropractic treatment session can vary depending on the complexity of the condition and the treatment approach. Typically, an initial visit may last between 30 minutes to an hour, which includes an assessment and treatment. Follow-up sessions are generally shorter, ranging from 15 to 30 minutes.

What conditions can chiropractors treat?

Chiropractors commonly treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint pain, and musculoskeletal injuries. They may also provide care for conditions like sciatica, arthritis, sports injuries, and whiplash-associated disorders.

Does insurance cover chiropractic care?

Many health insurance plans provide coverage for chiropractic care, but the extent of coverage may vary. It is advisable to contact your insurance provider to understand your specific benefits, including coverage limits, co-pays, and any referral requirements.

How do chiropractors perform adjustments?

Chiropractors use their hands to apply a specific force to your affected joints. Adjustments involve a quick thrust through a joint at a low amplitude, providing stimulation to your nervous system. Adjustments may make an audible sound, however the movement to the joint is what creates the greatest impact on your nervous system.

Can chiropractic care be combined with other forms of treatment?

Chiropractic care can often complement other forms of treatment, such as physical therapy, massage therapy, or medical interventions. Chiropractors may collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop a comprehensive and integrated treatment plan tailored to the individual's needs.
